The 70s are an emblematic decade for women's liberation, alongside a need to express one's freedom and originality. Through this will to stand out new forever iconic styles will emerge.
Nowadays, suede jackets, fringed clothes, sequinned dresses, corduroy fabric, floral prints, wide-leg pants, oversize blouses and long fluid pleated skirts are still completely up-to-date.
The first trend straight out from the 70s are large prints, such as large polka dots or big flowers. Jane Birkin, fashion Icon in the 70s, also wore these same prints.
The comeback of the Tie and Dye print. Emblematic of this decade, it is associated with Hippies and psychedelics. This print, well known for its bright and explosive colours, is back this summer, also on our swimsuits. However, this season, it is more associated with trendier pastel colours. Besides, Isabel Marant has revealed a tie and dye total look during the Spring-Summer Paris Fashion Week.
The Tie and Dye print is loved on the catwalk and adored by fashion bloggers, you can't possibly walk past it. For a great look, I advise you to pair it with modern and timeless pieces, like a denim jacket or a blazer for example. Also under a pastel suit, on a t-shirt or on a bikini by the pool.

The 70s have spoiled us with wide-leg pants. We won't leave them, ever, in white or other colours, they perfectly embrace our silhouette and our high heels are their best friend. They were spotted during the PFW in the Spring-Summer collection of luxurious brands such as Chloë, Isabel Marant and Loewe, alongside fringed bags and high-waisted pants. Romantic dresses and hippie-chic blouses in ivory lace also did ignite the catwalk during the Fashion Week.
Silk hair-scarves are ones of this season's must-haves. Many fashion bloggers have already embraced this trend but it was previously loved by our predecessors ! The first time I spotted this trend was while watching "That '70s show" starring Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis. I first saw it on Donna played by Laura Prepon. Patchwork jackets were also a trend in the 70s and made of different suede patterns, and this season, they are back in different shades of denim, alongside long pleated skirts.
The disco decade brought new timeless trends. Iconic and unique pieces of clothing which inspire designers all around the world. However metallic pieces of clothing remain my favourite 70s pieces forever.
Your time to shine! 𝙴𝚁
