Summer is over and we have to trade our sandals for closed shoes, if you did not already! For that purpose, I'm presenting you some Shoe trends so you can start this year with style!
The Fall-Winter 2020-21 Parades have already given us ideas for this winter and launched some trends. Autumn is coming already and the weather is showing, so it is time to choose designs of shoes and boots to wear next season. The choices are multiple, from Dad Shoes to military boots, to babies; there is a design for everyone!
Dad Shoes
The Dad shoes already in vogue for several seasons do not leave our closets, they were present this summer in Chanel's collection with the Dad Sandals. Spotted on the biggest autumn-winter 2020 shows by Dior or Louis Vuitton, they tend to be original.
Retro Shoes
Once reserved for little girls, babies have been worn by women since 1920 and have become a real asset of class and femininity. Prada was the first fashion house to display them, and further followed by Dior or Marc Jacobs. They exist in multiple colors and you can find pretty cute designs at Jonak, LaRedoute and Maje in magnificent models.
Moccasins are a timeless piece but sometimes difficult to wear because you have to combine them with a modern look to not look like your grandfather! This season, designers have shown great enthusiasm for this old school trend. In order to have fun with a masculine-feminine look, moccasins, as well as derbies, will be present this fall.
Platforms
Platforms were everywhere on the podium this season. We saw them in the turquoise shades at Miu Miu or in black at Gucci. Other brands are taking over the trend like Zara, Converse or &Otherstories. As they say so often, fashion is an eternal restart!
Shoes with square or pointed toe and pyramid shaped heel
Already worn by our grandmothers, square-toe shoes are a real must-have in recent seasons, whether on sandals, boots or pumps. As for pointed-toe shoes, they were long frowned upon by designers, but now come back in modernised or vintage versions. This summer we adopted squared toe sandals and small pyramid heels, these heels will follow us this winter!
Military Boots
These comfortable, warm and stylish boots will be your best ally to spend the winter. To be combined with a simple jeans or a tulle skirt for a more rock look, it is however advisable to opt for a quite modern outfit to break the heavy side of military boots.
Ankle Boots with Laces
Lace-up boots are really easy-to-wear women’s boots, whether with pants, a dress or a skirt. We never tire of their lacing and they come in multiple colors and materials, whether in leather or suede; in neutral or colored colors, they make us fall for it! Brands come out with beautiful designs often combined with the pointed or square toe trend. Moreover, JONAK opts for green patent leather boots with square toe.
Thigh Boots
Spotted during the Chanel Fall-Winter 2020-2021 show, these minimalist boots with clean and timeless lines have inspired all brands. Below the knee or in thigh boots, they are absolutely gorgeous! Just like its suede variations.
Cowboy boots
Santiag boots come from Spain, from the vaqueros, who were the first cowboys. Since the 1940s they are loved but we often do not know how to include them in our wardrobe. You can pair them with a bohemian dress, a blazer dress or high-waisted jeans. This winter, dare to wear them with an oversized inflatable jacket. They are highly associated with the pointed toe and western heel trend (a slightly angled heel).
Get ready for winter!
